Our master's students are based in the Graduate Institute of International Development, Agriculture and Economics (GIIDAE).

We are home to a large international community, attracting students and researchers from more than 40 countries in Africa, South and East Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, North America, and the Middle East.

You'll join a diverse community with a range of learners, from young graduates to experienced mid-career professionals, helping to create a unique and globalised learning experience. We value the diversity of our students and encourage peer-to-peer learning.

Facilities

GIIDAE is based in the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development, in a dedicated building on Reading's award-winning parkland campus. Our modern facilities include everything from large lecture theatres to research facilities, both on campus and at our working farms.

The School building has a café and comfortable student meeting spaces, plus 24-hour access to computers. The building also houses a comprehensive student support centre.

Our master's by research

Further your knowledge of animal nutrition, health, behaviour and sustainable livestock production with our flexible MSc by Research in Animal Science. You'll also develop your skills as an independent researcher.

How you'll study

Our master's course offers flexible study options, with online taught modules enabling you to remain at your workplace during your studies. The research element of your degree can be conducted either at your workplace or at Reading.
