Small Works Projects
Step 1: The work request | Step 2: The Estimate | Step 3: The Approval | Step 4: The Work | Step 5: Invoicing & Closure | Step 6: Project Feedback |
Step 2: The estimate: Rates comparisons
How our rates are set
Each year we look very closely at our recharge rates to ensure that they are just sufficient to cover our operational costs, and remain as competitive as possible. All E&F recharge rates are submitted annually to the Facilities Management Committee for formal approval.
In 2010/11 the Project Managers’ rate increased by just 1% for the second year running (to £56).
How consultants' rates are set
One way in which we deliver the larger small works projects, is by employing framework consultants to assist us, either with specialist services or with additional resources when we are at full capacity.
The frameworks have been tendered via the Procurement department to ensure that the organisations we employ are competent, have sufficient capacity and offer competitive market rates.
