Anne Dudley
Senior Technician - Teaching and Research
Responsibilities
I provide technical support for a range of analytical instrumentation in the Russell Building including an ICP-OES, a total organic carbon analyser and an ion chromatograph. The instrumentation is used by undergraduate, MSc and postgraduate students as well as for research projects both within the School of Archaeology, Geography and Environmental Science and across the wider university.
I am laboratory co-ordinator for four laboratories and analytical rooms in the Russell Building and I also provide technical support and training in general laboratory techniques and sample preparation for undergraduate and MSc dissertation students, post graduate students and research projects.
Career history
After completing a HND in Environmental Analysis and Monitoring I worked in a Public Analyst's Department before joining the Department of Soil Science at the University, based on the London Road site. I moved with the Department when it was relocated to a new building on Whiteknights campus and still work in the same building in what is now the School of Archaeology, Geography and Environmental Science.
