Responsibilities
In my role as a technician in food and nutritional sciences in Harry Nursten, I am responsible for the setting up and clearing away of practical classes during the teaching term. This includes modules in food microbiology in addition to biochemistry modules. Duties include culture of microorganisms (bacteria and fungi) and pouring of culture media, as well as, ensuring students are provided with all of the practical equipment/solutions necessary for the terms classes. Support to teaching staff/students also form part of my responsibilities.

Previously worked for 10 years as a Medical Laboratory assistant in Microbiology at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. Before spending approximately 2 years working for Hichrom Ltd manufacturing HPLC columns. I joined the University of Reading in September 2017.
