My PhD research focussed on the structure and function of nuclear receptors and their underlying role in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. However, current research interests have expanded to include the identification of drug targets in other acquired metabolic disorders.

Recombinant protein cloning and expression, protein purification and crystallization, Real-time quantitative PCR, computational biology and molecular docking for drug discovery.
Background
My academic background is in molecular biology and biochemistry. However previous work in industry also involved aspects of microbiology, microbial genetics and fermentation. In 2019, I completed my PhD in structural biology in the lab of Prof. Kim Watson, where I continue to work. My research involves an interdisciplinary approach combining computational methods with structural biochemistry and molecular biology to provide a mechanistic understanding of various proteins and their role in health and disease, with an aim to identify new drug candidates.
