Areas of interest
Dr Michael M. Piperakis is a teaching-focused lecturer with a background in nucleic acids chemistry. His pedagogical research centres on the implementation of peer-assisted learning (PAL) within the Chemistry Department and the evaluation of its impact on student learning and experience. Alongside his teaching scholarship, Dr Piperakis collaborates with Prof. C. Cardin on research into the binding interactions of ruthenium and other transition metal complexes with DNA, an area of study with important implications for the potential development of anticancer, antibacterial, and other therapeutic agents.
