Study in Greece
The CHS has an ERASMUS link, restricted to postgraduate students, with the Departments of Philology and of History and Archaeology of the University of Crete.
We also have good relations with the British School at Athens, a research centre in the heart of Athens. The BSA runs a 3-week summer course for undergraduates each summer, and several postgraduate courses. It also provides a nice base and accommodation for those wishing to visit Athens.
If you would like to learn Ancient or Modern Greek in Greece, there are several programmes available:
One takes place in a seaside town just outside Thessaloniki in Macedonia and is organised by the Centre for Balkan Studies. It runs over four weeks from late July to late August. Click here for more details. There may be some financial support available.
Another is organised by the University of Athens and runs over about six weeks from early June to mid-July. Scholarships are available to help with costs. You can download information and applications about this here. The deadline for applications is usually in early March.
If you are interested in applying for either of these, please contact Professor Duff by email as soon as possible.
