Dr Simone Pfuderer

Areas of interest

I am interested in modelling food and agricultural systems and in economic decision-making within agricultural and food systems.

In my work I have applied economic and statistical modelling to explore issues such as food system resilience, animal welfare, and sustainability. I am especially interested in how modelling tools can be used to assess and improve decision-making across the supply chain, from producers to consumers, and how these insights can support more equitable and environmentally sound agricultural practices and consumer choice.

My PhD focused on price formation in agricultural commodity markets, with a particular emphasis on the role of financial markets and public stockholding in influencing grain prices.
