Hugh Sinclair Unit of Human Nutrition (HSUHN)
Founded in 1995, the group was established using funds bequeathed from the estate of the late Professor Hugh Macdonald Sinclair (1910-1990), an eminent nutrition academic.
Continuing his legacy, our mission statement is:
"To strengthen the evidence base for dietary recommendations for the prevention of chronic diseases."
We collaborate with centres of excellence throughout the world and have strong links with the food industry. Our funding has been awarded from a number of prestigious sources including the Medical Research Council (MRC) , Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), and the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and Industry.
