Chris Green

Background


Chris has been Senior Geoarchaeologist at Quaternary Scientific since its establishment at the University of Reading in 2008, having previously held a similar role at ArchaeoScape at Royal Holloway from 1996. Prior to this, he was a Senior Lecturer in Geography at Royal Holloway, where he taught geomorphology and the Quaternary of the British Isles.

He has published extensively on the Quaternary geology and archaeology of southern Britain, including studies of river terrace sequences, the Stonehenge bluestones, and long-term landscape development. His work has contributed significantly to understanding the sedimentology and stratigraphy of gravel deposits and key Quaternary sites.

 

Role


As Senior Geoarchaeologist at Quaternary Scientific, Chris provides specialist geological and geomorphological input across a wide range of projects. He contributes to tender development, advises on investigative strategies, and leads the geoarchaeological components of field and laboratory investigations.

He plays a key role in ensuring robust project delivery and contributes to the preparation of major reports and research publications.
