Our courses

BA Fine Art

Benefit from our distinct approach to the subject, combining practice, theory and history – especially in contemporary art.

Experiment with a range of subjects and media, exploring painting, sculpture (such as welding and casting), printmaking, and digital media.

BA Art

This four-year programme includes a foundation year that leads directly into the three-year course. It provides an excellent introduction to a degree in art, particularly coming straight from A Level or BTEC.

You'll be provided with an introduction to studying fine art, as well as university life.

BA Art and History of Art

By combining studio practice and art historical studies, you gain a strong academic grounding, with a rich source of ideas for your own artwork.

Develop your skills in visual analysis, art production, writing and curation, and address art history from a contemporary perspective.

BA Art and Philosophy

Ask ethical and metaphysical questions about real-world issues from both Western and global perspectives.

Open your mind to radically different ways of thinking about art and hone your critical judgement, reasoning and argument skills.

BA Art and Psychology

Study both the science and art of the human mind, learning how to think, feel and communicate through making.

Gain your first qualification towards training to be a professional clinical psychologist while expanding your understanding of art production, its contexts and histories.

BA Art and Creative Writing

Expand your understanding of contemporary literature and art theories as you enhance your skills in writing and art production.

Explore literature creatively as you develop characters, shape poems and study theories and practitioners across both disciplines.

BA Art and English Literature

Deepen your understanding of ideas and theories in contemporary art and explore English literature from every era and across the globe.

Explore text-based art, visual narratives and writing in different media, as well as forms of publishing and distribution, online and off.

BA Art and Film

Learn both the practical and theoretical sides of art and film/TV production and encounter art and film from a range of viewpoints.

Respond to the urgent questions of today by building worlds, storytelling and getting under the skin of individual identities, real or imagined.

Studying material that ranged from history of art to philosophy and anthropology, I noticed a big change in how I thought about and approached both art and knowledge.
