Library tours
Are you a new student? In Welcome Week we offer short guided tours to help you find your way around the Library. We also offer an online self-guided tour and a self-guided tour leaflet is available from the Welcome Desk.
Study Advice training
The Study Advice and Maths Support Teams in the Library offer a range of training and workshops to help you develop your study skills.
- Study Advice events and seminars - includes essay writing, presentation skills and referencing.
Training for research students
The Academic Liaison, Study Advice and Research Engagement Teams in the Library run sessions as part of the Reading Researcher Development Programme. These include workshops on sourcing information for a literature review, writing a literature review, using the EndNote reference management tool, Open Access publishing, and research data management.

Arranging training for your students
We are keen to help University members develop the skills needed to exploit the information resources we offer. Our Academic Liaison Librarians and Study Advisers are happy to run training sessions for specific groups of students, especially if this is linked with a piece of work or project.
