SCR Wine Shop
The SCR wine shop is located in Park House on the ground floor, just to the right of the bar area, and is open Thursday and Friday 1-2pm during term times. It is run on a non-profit basis by our wine stewards, and is stocked mostly from cellars in Park House and Acacias. There are indications the SCR has been cellaring wine since at least the 1920s, and this could well be longer since the “common room” originated in 1897. We have wines dating back to 1988 in our cellars and are able to offer a selection, particularly of classic wines, that you will be hard pressed to find in wine shops. The current wines in the shop are priced from £6 to £35 per bottle. Members also have the opportunity to sample wines from the cellars at regular wine tastings (see events). In addition to selling wines to individual members we are able to supply events organised by University schools and departments.
