Royal Society Entrepreneur in Residence

The Royal Society Entrepreneur in Residence (EiR) scheme aims to increase the knowledge and awareness in UK universities of cutting-edge industrial science, research and innovation.

Prof William Kilgallon is in Residence with the School of Chemistry, Food and Pharmacy in 2021 supported by Prof Carol Wagstaff as Head of School.

The project aims to understand the potential for commercial activity across the school, help to assess, identify and address some of the challenges facing colleagues at a University level. He will also support at least two projects along the pathway to commercialisation delivering a model business development system, that will facilitate the acceleration of the assessment and evaluation of research projects so that those that have prospects for commercialisation can be fast-tracked to completion.
