Reading School of Pharmacy alumni Kalid Odweyne’s career has gone from strength to strength since completing the MPharm, he is currently working as a pharmacist within the NHS. Pharmacy appealed to Kalid because he is particularly interested in chemistry and biology, and he loves to interact with people so it was a great combination for him.
He made the decision to come to Reading after attending an Open Day and meeting the lecturers and students from the School of Pharmacy, and seeing the campus we have here.
"When I was applying, the MPharm at Reading was going through reaccreditation and my cohort was the first year on an integrated course. This means you don't learn the different aspects of the subject separately, but look at a particular disease and how you would use different medicines and how it links to the chemistry. Not many universities were doing that at the time. The lecturers were really friendly and excited about the teaching. Speaking to students at the Open Day, they were very happy and that made me want to apply."
