At the University of Reading, we regularly engage with schools and colleges at a number of levels. We collectively run an extensive programme of outreach activities, providing bespoke on- and off-campus talks and activities for students, teachers and careers advisors.

Year 12 taster days

Twice a year the Department holds taster days for current year 12 students interested in studying English Language and Applied Linguistics at university.

INSET courses

As a School, we organise INSET Courses for teachers of AS/A2 Level English Language and Literature in July of each year, to help teachers augment their knowledge and skills in these areas, and find out about new research and resources.

Digital outreach

Whilst we cannot always travel to your school we are happy to give digital talks on topics such as 'Why study linguistics at university?', 'How do we use language online?' or 'What to do with a linguistics degree?'
