Becoming a teacher

We offer a range of programmes, enabling you to train to teach at early years, primary or secondary level.

The Learning Hub supports students and staff at the University of Reading's Institute of Education with resources, advice and study space.

PGCE, QTS and EYTS

We offer PGCE, QTS and EYTS qualifications in early years, primary and secondary teaching; you will need to specialise in a certain age group and/or subject areas.

A century of education.  A future of possibility.

For 100 years, the Institute of Education has been inspiring teachers, transforming lives and shaping the future of education.

Through teacher education, research and strong partnerships with schools and communities, we prepare educators to make a lasting difference — locally, nationally and globally.
