Find your place in a welcoming community where you'll learn alongside passionate educators, build lasting friendships and make the most of every opportunity both in and beyond the classroom.

Join a community that inspires you

University is about more than earning a degree. It's about discovering new interests, building lasting friendships and becoming part of a community that shares your passion for education.

At the Institute of Education, you'll learn alongside students from a range of backgrounds, working together to exchange ideas, challenge perspectives and support one another throughout your studies. With approachable academics, collaborative learning and a welcoming atmosphere, you'll quickly feel part of our community.

Learn together

Instead of learning through lectures alone, you'll take part in seminars, group projects and discussions that encourage you to share ideas and learn from your peers.

Our academics get to know you as an individual, providing guidance throughout your degree and helping you build the confidence and skills you'll need for your future career.

You can also access the recently refurbished Student Common Room to meet classmates, continue conversations and unwind between sessions.

Make the most of student life

Studying at the University of Reading means there's always something happening beyond your course.

Whether you're joining a society, volunteering, attending campus events or simply meeting friends between lectures, you'll have plenty of opportunities to explore new interests and make lasting memories.

Read Angelos' story

I had the opportunity to visit numerous universities but Reading stood out. The town itself is so warm and away from the stress of big cities such as London. At the same time, it is very close to London.
