Areas of interest
As a trained actor (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland), I have extensive professional acting experience across theatre, film, television and radio (Equity name Cas Harkins).I have taught at a number of HE institutions and drama schools, including the Guildford School of Acting, and am a Fellow of Advance HE. As a first generation student, I have a particular commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
My work is focused on the practice and analysis of acting, with additional expertise in directing, scriptwriting and rehearsals. I have a particular interest in developing inclusive approaches to training methods for stage and screen. My first monograph, Contemporary Rehearsal Practice: Anthony Neilson and the Devised Text, was published by Routledge in 2021.
