Committee terms of reference
- Provide self-assessment of the School’s position in relation to equity and diversity principles
- To review and consider National EDI Policy updates and PSRBs to plan for School response
- Understand from staff and students’ areas of strength and need for development in relation to EDI strategy within the School
- To oversee the wide range of EDI activity in the School
- To monitor progress against the objectives in the School’s EDI Action Plan, ensuring these are aligned with the EDI-relevant priorities for the different activity areas as well as University strategy
- To monitor progress against the School’s Athena Swan Action Plan and oversee the preparation and submission of applications to retain our Silver Award status
- To consider and plan the School assigned activity and project work of the DISOs and ensure appropriate levels of support to undertake this work
- To act as a conduit between UoR Network Meetings and the School
- To work with PCLS Research Clusters to ensure EDI considerations remain forefront within the planning, bidding and delivery of research within the School
- To ensure that the impact of EDI work within the school is monitored, recorded and shared as appropriate
- To steer the strategy for EDI work within the School
- To consider and plan how the School will widen its workforce and increase representation for those with protected characteristics
