The MSc Speech and Language Therapy course allows you to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council and work as a speech and language therapist after graduating.
We work closely with local speech and language therapy services to provide you with clinical placements that give a breadth of experience. This range of experience, in combination with one-to-one input from our team of practising speech and language therapists, is there to help you decide which area of speech and language therapy you wish to pursue when qualified.
You can go on to work as a speech and language therapist in a wide variety of settings including hospitals, the community, schools, colleges or the prison service.
Alternatively, you may decide to combine clinical practice and research with further postgraduate study.
Speech and language therapy is an extremely rewarding career and, whatever path you choose, you will work closely with your patients, their families and carers. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team which may include physiotherapists, doctors, nurses or teachers.
