Secondments and Placements
The University is committed to developing its staff, and providing opportunities for career development and progression, and recognises the value of having well managed secondments and placements as a developmental activity.
They are beneficial to staff because they offer a chance to increase skills and knowledge, and experience working in a new and different environment. And in the case of external secondments, they enable the University to develop valuable relationships with other organisations.
Practical guidance on the successful implementation of secondments can be found in the Staff Secondment and Placement Policy, which covers:
- Internal placements within the University
- External secondments out of the University
- External secondments in to the University
- International postings
- Intra Group secondments
- Funding.
The policy aims to strengthen our existing secondment activity and provide guidance both to individuals who are committed to their personal and/or career development, and to managers wishing to set up a secondment arrangement.
If you have any questions in relation to secondments or placements please contact your HR Partner or HR Adviser.
